FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KURANGNYA MINAT SISWA DALAM KEGIATAN EKSTRAKURIKULER TARI DI SMA N 1 KOTO SALAK KABUPATEN DHARMASRAYA

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence students' lack of interest in participating in dance extracurricular activities at SMA N 1 Koto Salak, Dharmasraya Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that students' lack of interest in dance extracurricular activities is influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include low motivation, lack of self-confidence, and the assumption that dance can only be done by students who have talent. In addition, some male students assume that dance is identical to women so they feel embarrassed to participate in dance activities. External factors include lack of parental support, peer influence, less interesting learning methods, and limited facilities and infrastructure to support dance activities at school. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' lack of interest in dance extracurricular activities is not only influenced by factors from within the students, but also by the social environment and available facilities. Therefore, cooperation is needed between schools, coaches, parents, and students to create extracurricular dance activities that are more interesting, creative, and able to increase students' interest in the art of dance.
