This study aims to understand the use and function of Indang art in welcoming guests in the community of Kenagarian Jawi-Jawi Guguak, Gunung Talang District, Solok Regency. This research is qualitative. The research was conducted in Jawi-Jawi Guguak. The instrument used was the researchers themselves, with supporting tools such as stationery, a camera and a gadget/smartphone. Data collection techniques included literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation. The steps used to analyse data involved data collection, data reduction, data classification, and drawing conclusions. Research results show that the use and function of Indang art are performances as part of welcoming honoured guests visiting Nagari Jawi-Jawi Guguak, starting with the pasambahan dance, a speech, the main event, and then the Indang art performance. The use of Indang art in guest welcoming events is presented in Indang performances that align with songs in the form of pantun, which are integrated into the Indang show. The function of Indang art is for entertainment and symbolic representation.
